Gwangsan-gu Gwangju Recognized as Excellent in Local Price Stabilization Management Evaluation by Ministry of the Interior and Safety
Securing a Performance Bonus of 25 Million KRW
Gwangsan-gu in Gwangju has been awarded a 'B' grade in the local price stabilization management evaluation conducted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety, securing an excellent performance bonus of 25 million KRW.
According to the district office on the 10th, this evaluation assessed 243 local governments nationwide in five categories, including the management of local public utility charges, to select municipalities that achieved outstanding results.
To stabilize local public utility charges, the district froze the prices of volume-based waste bags. In addition, the number of designated "Good Price" businesses increased by 50% compared to last year to a total of 75, and the district supported these businesses with water and sewage fees, volume-based waste bags, and designated badges.
The district also plans to contribute to local price stability by monitoring the prices and trends of essential goods during holidays and to respond swiftly in the event of consumer damages.
Park Byungkyu, head of the district office, said, "Being selected as an excellent local government in this evaluation is recognition of Gwangsan-gu's efforts to stabilize prices," and added, "We will continue to manage prices that directly affect residents' lives in a stable manner to reduce the financial burden on ordinary households."
