Wando County Recruiting Applicants for 28.5 Billion Won Marine and Fisheries Project

Wando County, Jeonnam, announced on the 8th that it will be recruiting participants for the '2025 Marine and Fisheries Project' until the 3rd of next month to enhance the vitality of fishing villages and support stable fisheries management for fishermen.
This project will be carried out with a total of 55 types of initiatives and a budget of 28.5 billion KRW. The main projects include: ▲ installation of multipurpose hoists ▲ installation of complex multifunctional floating piers ▲ purchase and release of fishery seeds ▲ purification of aquaculture farms ▲ installation of marine waste collection facilities on vessels ▲ reduction of coastal and partitioned fishery vessels and fishing gear ▲ support for direct seafood delivery shipping costs ▲ construction of large, medium, and small cold storage facilities for seafood ▲ supply of eco-friendly energy ▲ supply of seaweed and kelp seeds, among others.
Eligible applicants include fishermen, fishermen's organizations, and fisheries cooperatives, provided there are no disqualifications as specified by each individual project. To apply, applicants must visit their local town or township office and submit the application form along with the required documents.
Wando County plans to review the feasibility and appropriateness of the projects and finalize the participants through deliberation by the county's own Fisheries Coordination Committee. A county official stated, "We will do our best to discover and support various policies to increase the income of fishermen."
