Gwangyang Steelworks Talent Volunteer Group Engages in Silver Gymnastics and Performances

Promoting Health and Emotional Stability for Seniors
POSCO Gwangyang Steelworks (headed by Ko Jaeyoon) held a silver gymnastics and performance activity for local seniors at the Icheon Village Hall in Jinsang-myeon, Gwangyang on the 7th, aiming to promote the health and emotional well-being of the elderly.
The Traditional Play Culture Talent Volunteer Group, established in April 2021, consists of about 30 steelworks employees and their family members. The group offers a variety of interactive performances that combine fun and play, including diverse experience activities, traditional games, laughter therapy, and magic, to bring new joy to the daily lives of local residents.

During their visit to Icheon Village Hall, the Traditional Play Culture Talent Volunteer Group presented a range of silver gymnastics and performances to 20 seniors, providing a heartwarming and enjoyable experience while also supporting the seniors' emotional stability and health.
During the silver gymnastics session, the volunteers taught various exercises set to trot music such as 'Jjiniya' and 'Pyeonghaengseon.' The exercises were tailored to the health conditions of the seniors, providing significant support for their physical and mental well-being.
In the following performance, the volunteers showcased the traditional play performances they had practiced, spending interactive time with the seniors. The members demonstrated their honed skills, and as they encouraged participation with gestures throughout the show, the seniors responded by following along and smiling brightly.
Choi Wanguk, head of the Traditional Play Culture Talent Volunteer Group, shared, "It is meaningful to be able to offer not only joy but also opportunities for health improvement to the seniors," and added, "We will continue activities this year to support various underprivileged groups in our local community."
