On January 2nd, Seongdong-gu held an Integrity Kickoff Ceremony for all employees to pledge transparent and fair administration

Seongdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeong Wono) held the ‘Seongdong Family Integrity Opening Ceremony’ for all employees on January 2nd to start the new year 2025 with transparent and fair administration.
The event was conducted simply and solemnly in accordance with the national mourning period following the Jeju Air passenger plane accident.
The ceremony began with a moment of silence for the victims of the Jeju Air accident, followed by the reading of the Public Officials' Ethics Charter, a New Year's address by Mayor Jeong Wono of Seongdong-gu, and the introduction of the new Deputy Mayor Kim Heegap.
Finally, the mayor and senior officials shook hands with all employees one by one to exchange New Year's greetings.
Last year, the district achieved a comprehensive integrity rating of Grade 2 for three consecutive years in the public institution integrity evaluation conducted by the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission. In 2025, the district plans to solidify a clean organizational culture and repay the trust of residents through ▲ corruption risk management for preemptive prevention of corruption ▲ post-corruption management by strengthening internal audits and activating anonymous reporting ▲ promotion of participatory integrity policies to enhance integrity sensitivity.

Jeong Wono, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, said, "The most important thing in an emergency situation is to protect the peaceful daily lives of residents," adding, "Seongdong-gu will fulfill its responsibilities and roles by the residents' side to keep promises with residents through clean administration and broad communication."
