Nonsan City to Provide One-Year Scholarship to New Semiconductor Engineering Students at Konyang University

View original imageNonsan City, Chungnam Province, announced on the 2nd that it will provide a one-year scholarship to freshmen of the Department of Semiconductor Engineering at Konyang University to foster semiconductor specialists.
Last year, the city supported the establishment of educational facilities for the Department of Semiconductor Engineering and EDA (Electronic Design Automation) licenses with a local extinction response fund of 1.4 billion KRW.
Konyang University, which established the Department of Semiconductor Engineering last year, has developed an optimal curriculum for nurturing experts in semiconductor design and verification, secured a 10-year license from Cadence, a global EDA company, and was officially designated as the Konyang University UV Training Center.
Additionally, it is the only university in Chungnam designated as a 'Glocal University,' securing differentiated competitiveness as a leading institution in the defense industry, and is attracting attention as a new educational foundation where talents tailored to the Fourth Industrial Revolution can pursue new dreams.
Mayor Baek Seonghyeon stated, "Konyang University plays a key role as an educational institution nurturing talents for the regional future industry, especially the defense sector," and added, "We will continue to provide strong support so that outstanding semiconductor professionals can grow in the Department of Semiconductor Engineering at Konyang University."
Meanwhile, the Department of Semiconductor Engineering at Konyang University is accepting regular admissions for 2025 freshmen until the 3rd.
