Seoul Metro (President Baek Ho) was selected as the best institution in the 2024 'National Critical Infrastructure Disaster Management Evaluation' hosted by the Ministry of the Interior and Safety on the 26th, receiving the Presidential Citation.
The 'National Critical Infrastructure Disaster Management Evaluation' designates facilities with a significant national impact in case of functional failure as national critical infrastructure, and evaluates ▲compliance with procedures for establishing protection plans to maintain national core functions ▲selection and management of key risks ▲performance of protection plan implementation.
In this evaluation conducted across 11 sectors and 155 institutions, Seoul Metro was recognized for excellent performance in the transportation sector in the area of 'Establishment and implementation of national critical infrastructure protection plans to secure core infrastructure protection and functional continuity,' achieving the highest rating of 'Grade A.'
Seoul Metro established the improved '2024 National Critical Infrastructure Protection Plan' by reflecting external expert advice and opinions from sector-specific personnel, receiving an upgraded evaluation from last year's Grade B to this year's Grade A.
The protection plan strengthened inter-item connectivity by setting protection goals reflecting institutional characteristics, conducting focused risk assessments on protection targets of Grades 1 to 3, subdividing and diversifying disaster types, and establishing key risk management strategies and measures.
Seoul Metro received high evaluations for its realistic protection goal setting through problem analysis, establishment of detailed key risk management measures, and the construction of a specific situation reporting system based on crisis management manuals, which are expected to yield effective results in actual disaster situations.
