Sentenced to Prison for Habitual Theft at Unmanned Store Just Two Months After Release
A man in his 30s who was released from prison less than two months ago after serving a sentence was sentenced to prison again for stealing items.
According to the legal community on the 21st, Judge Kim Jae-eun of the Criminal Division 13 at the Seoul Southern District Court sentenced A (35) to one year in prison on charges of theft.
A stole items worth a total of 113,700 won, including frozen square pizzas, from several unmanned stores in Gangseo-gu, Seoul, over four occasions from October 5 to 7. Previously, A had been sentenced to one year in prison last October for theft.

The court stated, "The defendant has a history of seven punishments, including two actual prison sentences for theft or attempted theft since 2022," and added, "Despite being within the recidivism period, he repeatedly committed theft crimes less than two months after his release, so the culpability is not light."
