Kia PBV Idea Contest, Submissions Accepted Until February Next Year
Kia announced on the 18th that it will hold the 3rd Purpose Built Vehicle (PBV) Idea Contest. This event aims to understand consumer demand and reflect it in actual vehicle development. Applications can be submitted on the website starting from today until February 12 next year.
The contest is divided into three categories?hardware, software, and general?centered on Kia's first PBV, the 'PV5,' scheduled for release next year. The hardware category is open to companies operating businesses such as conversion (special purpose) or vehicle accessories, or those with development capabilities. Participants are encouraged to propose ideas that enhance the value of PV5 conversion models like leisure cars and camping cars. The software category targets companies operating application service businesses or possessing development capabilities. The general category is open to anyone.
Judging will be based on product quality, creativity, feasibility, and business potential. Two grand prize winners will be selected in both the hardware and software categories, each receiving a prize of 10 million KRW. One grand prize winner will be chosen in the general category, with a prize of 5 million KRW. A total of 15 teams will be selected. Outstanding ideas will be considered for application in vehicle development.
