Yeoju-si Receives Award for Innovation Case from Handon Association Agricultural Cooperative Corporation
Contribution to the Improvement of Productivity in South Korea's Livestock Industry
On the 6th, the Han-don Association Agricultural Cooperative Corporation in Yeoju-si, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Chung-woo) announced that it was selected in the livestock circulation sector among the innovative productivity cases in livestock production in Korea, chosen by the Special Committee on Agriculture, Fisheries, and Rural Areas.

View original imageThe Special Committee on Agriculture, Fisheries, and Rural Areas is an advisory committee under the President that discusses sustainable development directions for agriculture, fisheries, and rural areas.
This event was organized to select excellent innovative cases to improve productivity in Korea’s livestock industry and secure a sustainable livestock environment, and to explore development directions for the entire industry. A total of seven innovative cases across different sectors were awarded.
The Yeoju Han-don Association Agricultural Cooperative Corporation was selected as an innovative case in the livestock circulation sector. In particular, it was recognized for its contribution to establishing a circulation system between livestock and crop farms by supplying livestock manure as customized fermented liquid fertilizer, which helped reduce management costs and improve productivity for local crop farmers.
Kim Sang-min, head of the Livestock Microbiology Team at the Yeoju Agricultural Technology Center’s Technology Extension Division, said, “The customized fermented liquid fertilizer supply project is a win-win initiative that efficiently processes pig manure and enhances productivity for crop farmers, greatly contributing to strengthening the competitiveness of Korean agriculture.”

Jeon Chang-hyun, head of the Technology Extension Division, said, “We will discover and promote various support projects to continuously advance the customized fermented liquid fertilizer project, which was selected as an innovative case in the livestock circulation sector.”
