Gwanak-gu to Recruit 4,639 Seniors for '2025 Senior Job Program'

Gwanak-gu (District Mayor Park Jun-hee) is recruiting participants for the ‘2025 Senior Job Program’ to expand social participation and support income security for seniors aged 65 and older, who make up 18% of the district’s population.
The district plans to invest a budget of 19.56 billion KRW for the 2025 Senior Job Program and will implement 66 projects across four categories (▲Senior Public Service Activities ▲Senior Capacity Utilization Projects ▲Community Project Groups ▲Employment Support).
The Senior Job Program will recruit 4,639 participants by December 10. Residents wishing to participate can apply by submitting an application form, ID card, resident registration certificate, personal information consent form, and basic pension verification to one of the 10 implementing agencies, including the Gwanak-gu branch of the Korean Senior Citizens Association.
The eligibility criteria vary by job type. For the ‘Senior Public Service Activities,’ applicants must be 65 or older and recipients of the basic pension or occupational pension (including spouses). For the ‘Senior Capacity Utilization Projects,’ applicants must be 65 or older, while for the ‘Community Project Groups’ and ‘Employment Support,’ applicants must be 60 or older.
In particular, the district has focused on creating many new jobs to discover projects that seniors can continuously participate in.
Major new projects include ▲‘Local Disinfection Activities’ involving disinfection work at public sports facilities and parks ▲‘Disability Vocational Adaptation Support Team’ responsible for facility management and work assistance at disability training centers ▲‘Subcontracting and Manufactured Goods Production’ within workshops ▲‘Clean Street Guardians’ responsible for street cleaning and inspection activities.
