Competition in Public Data Utilization... National Pukyong University Student Team Wins This Year's Datori Lab Excellence Award
Eunseo Lee, Chihyun Park, Sunmin Lim, Jongin Choi Solve Busan Subway Congestion Issue
The student team of Eunseo Lee, Chihyun Park, Seonmin Lim, and Jongin Choi from the Department of Scientific Computing at Pukyong National University (advisor Professor Junghwan Kim) received the Excellence Award at the ‘2024 Data Open Lab Utilization Datory Lab Final Presentation’.
Hosted by Busan City and Busan Technopark on November 27 at the Busan City Hall International Conference Hall, this competition featured 20 university teams participating in the Datory Lab program competing through presentations.
The final presentation of the Datori Lab using Data Open Lab is taking place at Busan City Hall on November 27.
View original imageDatory Lab is a program operated from this year by the Busan Big Data Innovation Center at Busan Technopark to solve local community issues using public data in collaboration with local university students.
The Pukyong National University student team presented on the topic of ‘Busan Subway Congestion’ and received the Excellence Award (Busan Technopark Director’s Award) in the competition, which selected one grand prize team and two excellence award teams.
They received high evaluations by proposing an efficient method to adjust the intervals between Busan subway trains based on Busan City’s open data and approaches from network science and mathematical modeling.
