LG Electronics Production Technology Institute and Joint Project 'Kick Off'... Busan City Promises Administrative Support
Inje University Haeundae Paik Hospital (Director Kim Sung-soo) is preparing for a leap forward in the field of ‘Bio 3D Printing,’ which will lead future medical care, in collaboration with LG Electronics.
On November 27, Haeundae Paik Hospital held a ‘Bio 3D Printing Joint Research and Development Kick Off’ event together with LG Electronics’ Production Technology Institute at LG Science Park in Magok, Gangseo-gu, Seoul.
The event marked the practical commencement of the ‘BIO 3D Printing Technology Memorandum of Understanding’ signed by the two institutions on August 21 and reviewed the progress made so far.
At the event, Haeundae Paik Hospital shared various application cases and research ideas from the medical field. In particular, they emphasized practical utilization methods of the technology by presenting ▲3D printing technology cases applied to liver transplant surgery ▲customized assistive devices for patients with nerve damage ▲potential applications in joints, skin, and vascular fields. LG Electronics announced technology development plans to realize these applications and detailed the cooperation roadmap with Haeundae Paik Hospital.
Additionally, starting December 1, Haeundae Paik Hospital will officially operate the ‘3D Bio Printing Center,’ accelerating technology development and practical application research. In response, Busan City has promised administrative support to ensure smooth progress of the collaborative project and will contribute to strengthening the foundation for medical technology innovation.
