Seongdong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Jeong Wono) announced that on the 28th of last month, it signed a business agreement with Seongdong Police Station and the Seoul Branch of the Korea Road Traffic Authority to establish a safe traffic culture.
This business agreement aims to strengthen cooperation with public institutions specializing in traffic safety. Through the agreement, each institution plans to jointly promote information sharing and traffic facility improvements to alleviate traffic congestion and proactively prevent traffic accidents.
To this end, on November 28th, a business agreement ceremony was held at Seongdong-gu Office, attended by the Mayor of Seongdong-gu, the Chief of Seongdong Police Station, and the Head of the Seoul Regional Headquarters of the Korea Road Traffic Authority.
According to the agreement, each institution will mutually cooperate on ▲ technical support and information sharing for traffic accident prevention and congestion improvement ▲ traffic safety campaigns and promotional activities to establish an advanced traffic culture ▲ traffic safety education for vulnerable road users.
By institution, Seongdong-gu will be responsible for establishing traffic policies and installing and maintaining traffic safety facilities; Seongdong Police Station will handle traffic safety guidance, enforcement of traffic regulations, and review of traffic safety facilities; and the Korea Road Traffic Authority will take charge of traffic safety education, preparing traffic improvement plans, and analyzing traffic accidents.
In the future, the institutions will jointly promote collaborative campaigns to improve traffic risk areas, alleviate traffic congestion, and prioritize safety in pedestrian and child protection zones, dedicating their efforts to making Seongdong-gu free of traffic accidents.

Jeong Wono, Mayor of Seongdong-gu, stated, “Through this agreement, we expect to systematically advance various projects for traffic facility improvements and traffic accident prevention,” and added, “Based on the accumulated experience and expertise of each institution and a close cooperative system, we will create a traffic-safe city in Seongdong where all residents can feel secure.”
