Rep. Kim Posts on Facebook
"Where Did the Sharp Korean Representative Go?"

Amid allegations that posts criticizing President Yoon Suk-yeol and his wife were made on the People Power Party's member bulletin board under the name of Representative Han Dong-hoon and his family, party lawmaker Kim Eun-hye has criticized Han's attitude.

On the 24th, Representative Kim posted on her Facebook titled "Where Has the Decisive Representative Han Dong-hoon Gone?" She began her post by saying, "There are allegations that the posts criticizing President Yoon and his wife on the party member bulletin board were written under the name of Representative Han Dong-hoon and his family." She then stated, "Family members of the ruling party leader can freely express their opinions about the President and First Lady of the Republic of Korea," but added, "However, the People Power Party, as the ruling party, has been floundering for over two weeks, avoiding easy verification of who wrote the embarrassing posts under the leader and his family's names."

Candidate Kim Eun-hye, who is running for the 22nd National Assembly election in Bundang-eul, Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, entered the Bundang District Election Commission in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province on March 21 to register as a candidate.

Representative Kim also said, "I cannot understand whether it is that they cannot reveal the truth or lack the confidence to do so, and why something simple for party members and the public becomes difficult in front of the party leader." She summarized, "The solution is clear: if it is family, say so; if not family, take action against 'identity theft.' If there is something to apologize for as the party leader, apologize; if there is responsibility, take responsibility." She then asked again, "Did the family write it or not? Where on earth has the decisive Representative Han Dong-hoon gone?"

In this post, she also questioned, "With the judicial risks of Democratic Party leader Lee Jae-myung being obvious, the People Power Party is caught up in the party member bulletin board and missing the golden time for reform," and added, "If we avoid self-reflection, how are we different from the Democratic Party we criticize?"

Kim, who served as spokesperson for President-elect Yoon and as the presidential office's chief of national affairs publicity, is considered a close aide to the President and a key pro-Yoon figure.

Meanwhile, regarding this controversy, Representative Han Dong-hoon said, "It will be thoroughly investigated and the truth will be revealed."

After a Supreme Council meeting at the National Assembly on the 21st, Han told reporters, "I do not think this is a matter to fall into unnecessary internal strife. As party leader, I will make a sound judgment and respond accordingly." He also explained the reason for not responding to each allegation against himself and his family, saying, "Given the important timing with many critical issues such as the sentencing of Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party, it is the party leader's judgment that responding to every issue would be inappropriate as it would overshadow other matters."

Regarding the facts about his family, Han drew a line by saying, "I will leave it at what I have said. It is not appropriate to explain each case." Han has previously denied that posts under his name were written by him. However, he did not clearly clarify whether posts under his family's names were fabricated or not.
