The inauguration and retirement ceremony of the Jaegwang Naju Hometown Association president was held on the 22nd at Gwangju JS Wedding Hall, attended by over 200 hometown members. The Jaegwang Naju Hometown Association held the retirement ceremony for Kim Bo-gon, the 15th and 16th president, and the inauguration ceremony for the 17th president on the afternoon of the 22nd at JS Wedding Hall in Seo-gu, Gwangju.
The inauguration ceremony of the Jaegwang Naju Hometown Association was held for two hours with enthusiastic energy, attended by about 200 people including National Assembly members Shin Jeong-hoon and Jeong Jin-wook, Gwangju Mayor Kang Ki-jung, Gwangju Metropolitan Council Chairperson Shin Su-jeong, Naju Mayor Yoon Byung-tae, former Naju Mayor Lim Seong-hoon, members of the Gwangju Jeonnam Media Forum, and hometown members.

President Kim, who first connected with the media by joining Mudeung Ilbo in 1988, is a seasoned journalist with 38 years of experience, having participated as a founding member of Gwangju Times, the predecessor of the current Namdo Ilbo, in 1997, and served as editor-in-chief and CEO. After retirement, he has been actively contributing to regional development by serving as a member of the Gyeonggi Provincial Government Advisory Committee, vice president of the Korea Disabled Sports Association, and chairman of the Gwangju Jeonnam Media Forum.
