A Man in His 40s Sentenced to 4 Years for Attempting to Extort Money from a Woman at Jamsil Baseball Stadium
A man in his 40s who attempted to steal money and valuables from a woman he did not know at the Jamsil Baseball Stadium parking lot in Songpa-gu, Seoul, was sentenced to prison in the first trial.
On the 22nd, the Criminal Division 11 of the Seoul Eastern District Court (Chief Judge Kang Min-ho) sentenced Won (47) to four years in prison on charges including attempted robbery with aggravating circumstances.
The court stated the sentencing reasons, saying, "The defendant purchased crime tools such as a stun gun, duct tape, and a folding knife, planned the crime by scouting the crime location and the victim, and approached the victim who was alone. Not only has the damage not been restored, but the victim also appealed to the investigative agency for severe punishment, citing mental distress."
