View original imageOn the 7th, Jeollanam-do announced that the 8th Jeonnam Senior Choir Competition was held at the Kim Dae-jung Auditorium of the provincial government office, where 25 city and county choir teams consisting of over 1,000 seniors showcased a fantastic harmony.
At the competition, the Hampyeong Nabi Sarang Choir won the Grand Prize. The Excellence Awards went to the Gokseong Train Village Silver Choir, Damyang Cheongjuk Choir, and Yeonggwang Sanwoollim Senior Choir, while the Encouragement Awards were given to the Gwangyang Cheongchun Senior Choir, Gurye Sansuyu Choir, and Naju Eunpa Choir. Trophies were awarded along with certificates and prizes.
The awards ceremony was attended by Governor Kim Young-rok and Lee Kwang-il, Vice Chairman of the Jeonnam Provincial Council, who presented awards to 13 senior choir teams including the Grand Prize, Excellence, and Encouragement Award winners.
During the competition, seniors with an average age in their 70s performed a passionate and fantastic harmony to piano accompaniment, defying their age and delivering emotion and happiness to the audience. In particular, the performances of the senior choirs were broadcast live on YouTube so that many people could enjoy their wonderful performances.
