L&K Biomed, Workshop on Height-Expandable Cage Cadavers
Introduction of Height-Expandable Cage Products in Detroit
Demonstration of Height-Expandable Cage 'ExcelFix-XTP' and Surgical Instruments
LNKBioMed announced on the 6th that its U.S. subsidiary, L&K Spine, completed the "Height-Expandable Cage Cadaver Workshop" on the 1st (local time) at the Intracare Surgery Center MI in Detroit, Michigan, USA.
The cadaver workshop was conducted at the request of medical professionals interested in the product. There was significant interest in LNKBioMed's height-expandable product, the "ExcelFix-XTP." Through education on the correct usage, theory, and pre- and post-operative effects of the "ExcelFix-XTP," the workshop aimed to highlight the product's excellence and ultimately provide safe and effective surgeries for patients. The surgical instrument "retractor," used together during surgeries with the ExcelFix-XTP product, was also introduced.
The retractor is used in lateral lumbar interbody fusion (LLIF) and anterior to psoas (ATP) surgeries, which are lateral and anterolateral approaches to the spine. It is designed for minimally invasive surgery (MIS) and is supplied together with the ExcelFix-XTP product.
The ExcelFix-XTP, the world's first height-expandable lateral cage product with a patented curved shape and technology, successfully completed its first surgeries in the U.S., Australia, and Hong Kong in May last year. Following this, a data collection project began in June 2023.
Dr. Fredrick John, participating in the XTP project, gave a lecture on the correct usage and know-how based on his extensive experience with height-expandable cages. Anatomical practice was conducted using the retractor and the height-expandable cage product, ExcelFix-XTP. Dr. Y.S. Mohan and Dr. Sunil Majila, who participated in the cadaver workshop, expressed high satisfaction with the retractor and ExcelFix-XTP products, stating, "These products are designed specifically for surgical purposes and are expected to be highly useful for patients requiring these surgeries."
