BPA, Busan Port Facility Electric Vehicle Fire Response Fire Safety Special Lecture
Busan Port Authority (BPA) conducted a special lecture on electric vehicle fire response for fire safety managers of facilities under its jurisdiction at the Busan Port International Exhibition & Convention Center on the 6th.
The training was attended by about 20 people, including safety management personnel from seven BPA-managed facilities equipped with electric vehicle charging stations and related BPA staff.
Experts from Busan Fire Academy and the Korea Electric Vehicle Rebuilding Association gave lectures on domestic regulatory improvement trends related to electric vehicle fires, the fire and explosion risks of electric vehicles, issues and countermeasures for lithium-ion battery fires, and management methods for fire protection equipment such as sprinklers, followed by a Q&A session.
Amid the recent emergence of electric vehicle fires as a social issue, Busan Port Authority organized this special lecture to ensure the safety of facilities under its jurisdiction within Busan Port, a gateway for Korea’s imports and exports and a global transshipment hub, and to minimize damage in the event of an electric vehicle fire.
Participants evaluated the session as an opportunity to resolve questions about the risks and response measures for electric vehicle fires through detailed explanations by experts and to reaffirm the importance of fire safety management.
