Lee, who debuted in 2004 by winning the New Poet Award in the poetry section of the quarterly magazine 'Literary Korea,' experienced the joy of publishing his first poetry collection after a full 20 years.
Through this poetry collection, he expressed themes of nature description, rural realities, and family narratives with a time of interest and contemplation.
Composed of a total of 54 sections and 72 poems, this collection vividly contains the themes of 'family,' 'hometown,' 'life,' and 'grass and trees.'
In particular, the poem titled 'Binu'?which is also the title of the collection?is regarded as a masterpiece that symbolizes a mother's sacrifice, who exhausts her body until it completely melts away.
Poet Gong Gwang-gyu evaluated the collection in the foreword, stating, “Lee Gwang-du’s poetry shines with delicate observation and metaphorical description of objects and events, along with lyrical and intimate reflection.”
