Koda to Receive 'Player of the Year' Award for the First Time
6 Wins in 2024, 244 Points for Player of the Year
Early Award Confirmation with 100-Point Lead over 2nd Place Lydia Ko
Leading in Prize Money and CME Globe Race as Well
World No. 1 Nelly Korda (USA) has been named the LPGA Tour 2024 Player of the Year.
Korda earned 244 Player of the Year points through the Toto Japan Classic, which concluded on the 3rd in Shiga Prefecture, Japan, maintaining a 100-point lead over Lydia Ko (New Zealand), who is second with 144 points. There are three remaining tournaments in this year's LPGA Tour. Even if Lydia Ko wins all three, she can only earn 90 Player of the Year points, confirming Korda's selection as Player of the Year.
This is Korda's first time being named LPGA Tour Player of the Year. Last year, Lilia Vu (USA) received the award. This marks the first time in 30 years that an American player has been named LPGA Tour Player of the Year for two consecutive years, since Betsy King in 1993 and Beth Daniel in 1994.
