The Gwangju Employers Federation stated on the 29th that the KIA Tigers' achievement of 'V12' is an emotional moment in a new history.
In a press release issued that day, Gwangju Employers Federation said, "The Tigers have created a history of 12 consecutive Korean Series championships," and emphasized, "Monday, October 28, 2024, is not only a great joy and pleasure for KIA Tigers fans but also an emotional moment for the local community."
They continued, "This victory is a valuable win made at the home stadium after 37 years since the 1987 Korean Series championship (V3). Baseball in Jeollado holds a meaning beyond sports. During difficult and challenging times, the Haitai Tigers' championship brought new hope and vitality to the local people and served as a channel for vicarious satisfaction," highlighting its significance.
They also said, "The efforts and dedication shown by all players who made new history today, including KIA Tigers CEO Choi Jun-young, manager Lee Beom-ho, captain Na Sung-bum, pitcher Yang Hyeon-jong, and batter Kim Do-young, were deeply moving," and added, "We also extend our congratulations and gratitude to Kia Motors and Tigers officials who played a solid supporting role for the regular season and Korean Series championships."
