Sacheon-si, Expansion of Public Wireless Internet Network Installation in the Second Half of the Year
Increasing Citizen Convenience and Reducing Communication Costs
Sacheon City in Gyeongnam announced on the 29th that it has expanded the installation of public wireless internet networks (Wi-Fi) to provide citizens with a more convenient and stable internet environment.
Along with expanding the public wireless internet network (Wi-Fi), the city promoted the "2024 Second Half Public Wireless Internet Network (Wi-Fi) Expansion Installation Project" to reduce citizens' communication costs by replacing outdated equipment.
With a total budget of 40 million KRW, 11 indoor and outdoor wireless access points (APs) were installed at four public locations: Samcheonpo Sea of Wisdom, Samcheonpo Traditional Fish Market, in front of the Sacheon City Branch of the Republic of Korea 6·25 War Veterans Association, and the main building of Sacheon City Hall.
This allows citizens and visitors to connect to Wi-Fi more easily and use the internet for free at public facilities.
The "2024 Second Half Public Wireless Internet Network (Wi-Fi) Expansion Installation Project" completed design and ordering in August, finished installation in September, and officially launched the service in mid-October.
Meanwhile, the city is focusing on infrastructure development to enhance internet accessibility for citizens through the expansion of the public Wi-Fi network.
