Uijeongbu City Promotes Local Youth Urban Regeneration Planner Training Program
Expanding Youth Participation in Urban Regeneration... Increasing Potential for Local Revitalization
Uijeongbu City is conducting a lecture titled "Youth! Becoming a Local Planner" on the 8th to educate residents about urban regeneration.
Uijeongbu City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Kim Dong-geun) announced on the 14th that it opened the lecture "Youth! Becoming a Local Planner" on the 8th for urban regeneration resident education.
This education was designed to increase young people's interest in the Uijeongbu area and to lead changes and development in the local community through participation in urban regeneration. About 80 youths and university students in the district are participating, and the program will run for a total of 12 sessions until November 28.
The curriculum includes not only theoretical education such as basic understanding of urban regeneration, the importance of public-private cooperation to solve local problems, and thematic joint training (workshops) linked to Uijeongbu City's urban regeneration projects, but also field-centered lectures.

Choi So-young, Director of the Uijeongbu City Urban Regeneration Support Center, said, "This education was planned to discover youth leaders who will be the main agents of regional change and to activate their participation," adding, "I hope they learn a lot and grow in the new field of urban regeneration by using the region as a textbook."
