Korea Post Issues Commemorative Stamp Featuring Andong 'Hahoe Village' Panorama
The Korea Post announced on the 10th that it will issue commemorative stamps on the 18th of this month featuring Hahoe Village and Wolyeonggyo Bridge in Andong, Gyeongbuk.
The commemorative stamps depict daytime views of Hahoe Village and nighttime views of Wolyeonggyo Bridge.
Hahoe Village is a cultural heritage site representing Andong, known for its harmonious blend of traditional architecture including old houses, Confucian academies, pavilions, and study halls, making it a prominent tourist destination in the region.
Wolyeonggyo Bridge, which serves as the background for the commemorative stamps, is a wooden bridge measuring 387 meters in length and 3.6 meters in width, known as a scenic spot ideal for strolling while enjoying the surrounding views.
Especially at night, true to its name 'Wolyeong (月映)', meaning 'moon reflection,' it is famous for the beautiful sight of the moon reflected on the river. The Wolyeongjeong Pavilion in the middle of the bridge and the lights installed along the bridge allow many visitors to enjoy the night view at Wolyeonggyo.
The commemorative stamps can be purchased at nearby main post offices or through the online post office.
