224 Applicants for 55 Kindergarten, Elementary, and Special School Teacher Positions
The Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education announced that for the '2025 Public Kindergarten, Elementary, and Special School Teacher Candidate Selection Competitive Examination,' 224 applicants applied for 55 positions, resulting in an average competition rate of 4.1 to 1.
For general kindergarten positions, 40 people applied for 1 opening, resulting in a competition rate of 40 to 1. For general elementary positions, 121 people applied for 39 openings, with a competition rate of 3.1 to 1. Additionally, the competition rate for special (kindergarten) general positions was 7 to 1, for special (elementary) general positions 5.3 to 1, and for positions for persons with disabilities 4 to 1.
The first round of the examination will be held on November 9, and the test locations will be announced on the Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education website on November 1.
The Daejeon Metropolitan Office of Education plans to select 1.5 times the number of candidates to be hired in the first round based on teaching essay and curriculum tests, and then select the final 55 candidates through the second round, which will include in-depth interviews to assess teaching aptitude and teaching demonstrations.
