Passenger car driven by a person in their 20s crashes into roadside trees... 3 middle school classmates killed
A passenger car driving on a city road in the early morning hours collided with a roadside tree, resulting in a traffic accident that killed three people.
At around 4:10 a.m. on the 5th, a passenger car driven by a man in his 20s, Mr. A, crashed into a roadside tree and overturned on a road in Deokpung-dong, Hanam-si, Gyeonggi Province.
According to the police, the vehicle driven by Mr. A was traveling in the second lane of a four-lane one-way road when, for unknown reasons, it veered to the right and consecutively hit the curb and a roadside tree.
Three people, including the driver, died in the accident. It was confirmed that a total of six people were in the vehicle, including Mr. A, five men, and one woman. The three deceased, including Mr. A, were all middle school classmates.
Two other classmates who were seated in the front passenger and back seats were injured and transported to a hospital for treatment. The injured were confirmed to be in stable condition without life-threatening injuries.
Investigations revealed that Mr. A had driven about 3 km from downtown Deokpung-dong, Hanam, to the accident site. A passerby witnessed the accident and reported it to 112.

The police plan to investigate the detailed circumstances of the accident, including whether alcohol was involved, by tracking their movements and interviewing witnesses and the two survivors.
