‘Tteokbokki Sanctuary’ Sindang-dong to Host ‘Food Festa’ on the 11th
Tasting, Experience Events, and Various Performances in Car-Free Hipdang-dong
Jung-gu, Seoul will hold the 'Sindang-dong Food Festa' on the 11th at the Sindang-dong Tteokbokki and Food Alley. From 4 PM to 9 PM on the day of the event, the area around Sindang-dong Tteokbokki and Food Alley (76 Toegye-ro-gil, Jung-gu) will be designated as a car-free zone, allowing people of all ages to safely enjoy the festival.
A tasting corner featuring over 10 varieties of tteokbokki will be operated, along with a garaetteok performance with the character 'Deokboki,' performances by Sindang-dong residents, and a singing contest for Jung-gu residents. Participants in roulette games and other activities will receive various prizes, and those presenting receipts totaling over 20,000 won in a receipt aggregation event will be given a 5,000 won Onnuri gift certificate.
Jung-gu will live broadcast the on-site festival through Jungjeon Live and introduce tteokbokki and food vendors to promote the Sindang-dong Food Festa to the MZ generation visiting 'Hipdang-dong' (Hip + Sindang-dong).
On the day, the Jung-gu Traditional Market Commercial Area Development Center, a non-profit organization, will conduct a survey for event participants and present thank-you gifts. The survey results will be reviewed and reflected in future Sindang-dong Food Festa events. Last year, Jung-gu launched a brand image and the character 'Deokboki' to revitalize the Sindang-dong Tteokbokki Alley.

An official from the district stated, "We hope this festival will be an opportunity for the MZ generation and foreign tourists visiting Hipdang-dong to discover the charm of the food alley," adding, "We will continue to support Sindang-dong Tteokbokki to become a representative K-food that captures the taste buds of people worldwide."
