All visitors to the institute, including patients and their families, can send hopeful postcards to the mailbox shaped like the institute's mascot, Dirami. A total of eight types of postcards are provided to residents free of charge, and the collected postcards are sent out at the end of each quarter in March, June, September, and December.
On this day, a special event was held where selected patients and families currently hospitalized at the institute had the opportunity to be the first to place their postcards in the Slow Mailbox. In addition, rice cakes and beverages were gifted to the families of patients and local residents visiting the institute.
Lee Gwanghun, Director of Kori Nuclear Headquarters, said, "I hope the Slow Mailbox can deliver hope and comfort to patients and their families, and help with their psychological healing and stability. We will continue to carry out activities that enhance various social values for the local community."
