Gongju City Promotes Home-Based Medical Benefit Project with Gongju Medical Center and Others
The city of Gongju, Chungnam Province, announced on the 4th that it has signed a business agreement for the "Home-Based Medical Assistance Program" with partner institutions such as Gongju Medical Center, Gongju Care Social Services Center, and Dodeok Senior Welfare Center.
The Home-Based Medical Assistance Program is a project that provides integrated services to medical assistance recipients discharged from medical institutions, so they can live stably and comfortably at home.
The city plans to select long-term inpatients who have a low need for hospitalization and can secure housing, and help them settle back into the community after discharge.
This program is divided into essential benefits, which support medical and non-medical (care, meals, transportation) services, and optional benefits, which support housing improvements and essential daily necessities.
The average monthly essential benefit per person is 716,500 KRW (medical: 70,920 KRW), and the non-medical benefit is 645,580 KRW, while the optional benefit provides up to 2 million KRW annually.
Mayor Choi Woncheol said, "We will do our best to ensure that long-term medical assistance beneficiaries can maintain a safe and healthy life even after discharge by successfully establishing the Home-Based Medical Assistance Program."
