Korea Investment Corporation Appoints Park Il-young, Former World Bank Director, as New President
Korea Investment Corporation (KIC) announced on the 26th that Park Il-young, former Executive Director of the World Bank, has been appointed as the 9th President of KIC.
President Park will hold an inauguration ceremony at KIC headquarters in the afternoon and begin his duties.
Born in 1968, President Park graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in International Economics, and from the Sanford School of Public Policy at Duke University with a degree in International Development Policy. After passing the 36th Administrative Examination in 1993, he served as Director of the Development Finance Bureau and Director of the External Economic Bureau at the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, as well as International Economic Management Officer.

He is also regarded as an international finance expert with extensive experience and a broad network gained from his roles as an economist and Executive Director at the World Bank, and as a Senior Advisor at the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
