'Arrest Warrant Requested for Goryeo Pharmaceutical Official Over Alleged Illegal Rebates'
Suspected Violation of Pharmaceutical Affairs Act...Warrant Hearing on 27th
Two officials from Koryo Pharmaceutical, suspected of 'illegal medical rebates,' are on the verge of being detained.
On the 26th, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Criminal Mobile Unit announced that they had applied for arrest warrants for Koryo Pharmaceutical executive Mr. A and accounting staff Mr. B, who are suspected of violating the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act, on the 13th.
They are accused of being involved in providing illegal rebates while managing sales and handling accounting duties at Koryo Pharmaceutical, respectively. The Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office filed arrest warrants for them on the 24th.
Judge Kim Seok-beom, in charge of warrants at the Seoul Central District Court, is scheduled to conduct pre-arrest suspect hearings (warrant substantive examinations) for Mr. A and Mr. B, who are suspected of violating the Pharmaceutical Affairs Act, consecutively at 10:40 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on the 27th.

Earlier, in April, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency's Criminal Mobile Unit seized an Excel file named 'BM (Black Money)' during a search of Koryo Pharmaceutical. The police confirmed that the file contained a list of about 1,000 doctors suspected of receiving rebates and have been verifying whether these doctors actually received illegal rebates.
