This competition targeted the main buildings of Woorikkot Botanical Garden, a key facility in the western region of the city's ongoing 'Botanic Garden Hwaseong' project, specifically the comprehensive management building and the four-season exhibition greenhouse (2 floors above ground).
Out of a total of 22 entries, the city held a judging committee composed of six experts who selected five outstanding works in the first round of judging on the 10th, and then finalized the winning design. The winning design will be granted the rights for basic and detailed design.
The winning design received high praise from the judges for maintaining the form and mass of the existing building while considering a well-structured spatial composition and harmony with the surrounding landscaping space. The city plans to sign a contract with the winning firm within this month, complete the design service by March next year, start construction thereafter, and complete the project by December 2026.
