Honorary Resident Certificates to Be Awarded at October 'Geumcheon Residents' Day' Ceremony
Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced that it is accepting nominations for this year’s honorary residents who have contributed to the development of the region until September 25.
The Geumcheon-gu Honorary Resident system has been in operation since 2015 to discover individuals who have contributed to the development of the district, foster pride, and maintain continuous cooperative relationships.
Nomination targets include residents of other cities, counties, or districts, and foreigners who meet the following criteria: ▲ those who have made remarkable contributions to the development of the district ▲ those who have greatly contributed to promoting exchanges, trade cooperation, or friendship with residents for the development of the district.
Those eligible to nominate candidates are heads of public organizations, heads of social organizations with more than 10 members, and 10 or more residents of the district.
Nominations can be submitted by visiting the Geumcheon-gu Office’s Autonomous Administration Division, or by mail or email by September 25. Nomination forms can be downloaded from the ‘Notices & Announcements’ section on the Geumcheon-gu Office website.
On October 23, at the Geumcheon-gu Residents’ Day commemorative event, those selected as honorary residents will be presented with an honorary resident certificate and plaque.
Honorary residents receive administrative benefits equivalent to those of Geumcheon-gu residents, are invited to various events hosted by the district, and are given opportunities to be appointed as members of district-related committees, among other honors.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, stated, “We hope for much interest and many nominations so that those who are not Geumcheon-gu residents but have dedicated and served the district and its residents can be selected for the better development of Geumcheon-gu.”
