Goyang-si Signs Business Agreement with Korea Veterans Welfare and Medical Service
Joining Hands to Improve Housing Conditions for National Merit Recipients... Supporting About 480 Households This Year

Goyang Special City, Gyeonggi Province (Mayor Lee Dong-hwan) announced on the 20th that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Korea Veterans Welfare and Medical Service (Acting Director Ha Yoo-sung) to improve the housing environment for national veterans.
According to the MOU, the Korea Veterans Welfare and Medical Service will operate a housing environment improvement project to ensure that vulnerable national veterans can live safely and comfortably, and will support the restoration of housing damage for national veterans in the event of disasters.
Since its inception in 2009, the Korea Veterans Welfare and Medical Service's housing environment improvement project has invested approximately 38.9 billion KRW to enhance the quality of life for about 6,899 households of national veterans, and plans to support around 480 households nationwide this year.
The city stated that through this agreement, it will actively promote the housing environment improvement project and strive to identify vulnerable national veterans in need of housing improvements within the jurisdiction so that more people can receive support.

Mayor Lee Dong-hwan of Goyang said, “We will closely cooperate with the Korea Veterans Welfare and Medical Service to ensure that national veterans and their families can spend their later years comfortably and healthily,” and added, “We will advance as a city that leads the practice of the spirit of patriotism and veterans through various policies honoring the sacrifices and contributions of national veterans.”
