Anseong-si Decides Next Year's Living Wage at 11,240 Won
Minimum Wage 1,030 Won Higher Than 10,030 Won
On the 10th, Anseong City in Gyeonggi Province announced that the living wage to be applied from next year was decided to be 11,240 won at the recently held Anseong City Labor-Management-Civil-Government Council. This amount is a 0.9% increase compared to this year's living wage and is 1,210 won higher than the minimum wage of 10,030 won announced by the government this year.
Kim Bora, mayor of Anseong City, explained, "This living wage was determined considering the city's financial conditions, boosting workers' morale, and the living wage decisions of other cities and counties."
The living wage is a wage paid to enable workers to maintain a minimum humane and cultural standard of living, and it applies to workers affiliated with the city who are not subject to the 'Public Officials Salary Regulations' and 'Local Public Officials Salary Regulations,' as well as workers affiliated with investment and contribution institutions.

The city particularly explained that next year's living wage will also be expanded to apply to workers belonging to institutions, organizations, or companies entrusted with office work by the city.
