Busan Urban Corporation Visits Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority in India for Mutual Cooperation Working-Level Meeting
Follow-up to BMC-PMRDA Mutual Cooperation MOU
Consultations with Indian Organizations and On-site Visits... Overseas Project Promotion
Busan Metropolitan Corporation (BMC) held a three-day working-level consultation with the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) in India from September 2 to 4.
This consultation was a follow-up to the mutual cooperation MOU signed with PMRDA in October, and a delegation was formed mainly by the Future Strategy Office staff responsible for discovering new BMC projects.
During the meeting, which was attended by Yogesh Mhase, Commissioner of PMRDA, Deepak Singla, Deputy Commissioner, and other PMRDA officials, the two organizations shared updates on their major projects and progress, and engaged in a Q&A session regarding project implementation methods.
In particular, PMRDA shared information about 18 districts under development planning in key areas such as Hinjawadi, Chakan, and Wagholi, as well as six projects undergoing detailed plan approval procedures, showing strong interest in joint projects with BMC.
At the meeting, BMC introduced its plan for a platform to deliver construction bidding information from the Pune metropolitan area to companies in Busan, and PMRDA promised active cooperation.
Along with the two rounds of working-level consultations, the BMC delegation visited the Pune International Exhibition and Convention Center (PIECC) and Sector 12 public housing district, both developed by PMRDA, to review project status. They also toured urban development project sites in Hinjawadi such as the Blue Ridge Urban Development Project and Life Republic Urban Development Project, as well as the Magarpatta City Urban Development Project in the Hadapsar area of Pune, where private real estate developers are either implementing or have completed projects on sites approved by PMRDA.
Following these discussions, both organizations agreed to continue close and detailed consultations regarding the establishment of BMC’s overseas cooperation platform and joint projects in India. To further mutual understanding of Busan and urban development projects, they also decided to prepare for a visit by PMRDA to Busan in December.
