Park Gyu-young's Agency Announces "Strong Response"
As deepfake damages continue to surge in the entertainment industry, actress Park Gyu-young has announced a strong stance against deepfake crimes.
On the 3rd, Park Gyu-young's agency, Saram Entertainment, released a statement through their official social media (SNS) saying, "Recently, there have been cases of illegal production and distribution of deepfake materials targeting actress Park Gyu-young. We intend to respond strictly to this."
They continued, "We deeply appreciate the active reports and interest from fans," and emphasized, "We will continue to take a strong stance against illegal activities related to the actress." They added, "Our agency will collect related materials through continuous monitoring. If you discover any related cases, please report them to the email address below."
Recently in Korea, deepfake crimes involving the synthesis and distribution of obscene materials such as nude photos onto women's faces or bodies have been rampant. Deepfake is an AI-based image synthesis technology, and since celebrities have many publicly available photos and videos, they are more vulnerable to deepfake crimes.
