Air Force Soldier Involved in Drunk Driving Accident Crashing into Base Perimeter Facilities
A soldier intoxicated at a military base drove a vehicle recklessly, causing damage to security facilities.
According to the Air Force on the 4th, two drivers at the Gwangju 1st Combat Flight Wing were apprehended by military police and are under investigation for charges including drunk driving. They had consumed alcohol without permission and drove a military passenger car, crashing into several sections of the barbed wire fence on the outer road of the base before finally stopping. It was reported that they did not drive on the runway. The soldiers sustained bruises and other injuries and received treatment at a military hospital. It has not yet been revealed how they obtained the alcohol.
