View original imageYongsan-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Park Hee-young) announced that it has appointed Professor Lee Ji-won, former pediatrician at Chungnam National University, as the new head of the public health center as of the 1st of this month.
New head Lee Ji-won graduated from Seoul National University College of Medicine, completed her internship, residency, and clinical instructor training at Seoul National University Hospital, and served as a professor in the Department of Pediatrics at Chungnam National University. She then worked for three years as the head of the Rare Disease National Management Policy Division at the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency, gaining a deep understanding of national health policies.
Head Lee stated, "Based on my experience as a clinical physician and educator, as well as my policy-making experience in central government agencies, I will do my best to promote the health of Yongsan-gu residents," adding, "I will strive to ensure that the Yongsan Public Health Center plays a leading role in improving the quality of medical services for vulnerable groups." She emphasized focusing on strengthening a recipient-centered care system tailored to local characteristics and enhancing cooperation among public medical security systems.
