Kim Mo (79), who was arrested by the police on charges of arson of a dwelling, appeared at the pre-trial detention hearing at Gwangju District Court on the afternoon of the 24th.
Kim covered his face by wearing a hat pulled down low and a dark-colored mask. He did not respond to reporters' questions such as "Do you admit the charges?"
Earlier, on the 22nd, Kim is accused of lighting a box containing butane gas and flammable materials on fire and detonating it at the entrance of a dental hospital in Chipyeong-dong, Seo-gu, Gwangju, before fleeing the scene.
