Buan Office of Education Successfully Completes 'Exciting Yacht Experience' at Gyeokpo Port During Summer Vacation
Specialized Program of Neulbom School Connected with Local Community During Vacation
Jeonbuk Buan Office of Education (Superintendent Jang Gi-seon) announced on the 22nd that it successfully operated a special yacht program for elementary and middle school students in Buan during the summer vacation at Gyeokpo Port.
According to the Buan Office of Education, this program is a region-specific program linked and operated with the local community as part of the Neulbom program during the vacation. It was planned to provide a yacht experience that is difficult to access during the school term, receiving great responses from participants. The program was hosted by the Buan Office of Education and organized by the Jeonbuk Yacht Association.

Held from the 3rd to the 18th, the program included a one-time yacht experience with guardians on weekends and a four-session yacht athlete experience on weekdays, where participants directly operated yachts. The program accepted applications on a first-come, first-served basis for 12 weekend sessions with 240 participants and 4 weekday sessions with 40 participants.
Interest from students and parents was so high that applications were filled on the first day of registration. Despite the hot weather, participating students enjoyed sailing yachts cutting through the cool sea breeze under the blazing sun shining on the yachts. They also dreamed of becoming key figures leading Buan’s future yacht industry.

Superintendent Jang Gi-seon said, "We developed the Neulbom program outside of school linked to the characteristics of Buan, the mecca of the yacht industry," adding, "Through the operation of Neulbom School, which fosters mutual growth between the community and education, we will continue to provide various opportunities in cooperation with local related organizations so that Buan’s students can grow locally and become future talents."
