"Why Haven't You Paid Me Back?" Man in His 40s Turns Himself In After Killing Acquaintance Over Money Dispute
A man in his 40s who fatally stabbed an acquaintance during an argument over unpaid debt has turned himself in to the police and was urgently arrested.
The Masan Dongbu Police Station in South Gyeongsang Province announced on the 22nd that they have arrested a man in his 40s, identified as A, on suspicion of murder and are currently investigating him.
According to the police, A is suspected of killing a man in his 30s, identified as B, at his home in Yangdeok-dong, Masanhoewon-gu, Changwon, around 4 p.m. the previous day.
The two men reportedly became acquainted in the past while working in the delivery service industry.
On the day of the incident, A called B to his house and demanded repayment of 4.1 million won that he had lent him. When B said he could not repay the money immediately, an argument broke out, during which A fatally stabbed B with a weapon.
A confessed to the crime at Masan Dongbu Police Station at around 1:30 p.m. on the 22nd, the day after the incident.
The police plan to apply for an arrest warrant for A after completing the investigation, likely on the 23rd.
