Chungnam Province Installs Entry Blocking Facilities at Naepo Underpass
Operates When Water Level Exceeds 15cm
Chungnam Province announced on the 22nd that the installation of entry-blocking facilities at the Naepo Underpass has been completed.
In response to underpass flooding accidents in cities such as Busan and Cheongju, the province invested 900 million won to install entry-blocking facilities at the Naepo Underpass on Local Road 609.
The entry-blocking facility is automatically activated with an alarm when a water level of 15 cm or higher is detected. It can also be operated remotely or manually from the Western Office and within the underpass.
Lee Jaehong, head of the Western Office of the Provincial Construction Headquarters, said, "With the installation of the blocking facility, we can now prevent property damage and loss of life in case of underpass flooding," adding, "We will do our best for disaster prevention and safety management."
