Cleaning Up Illegal Advertisements to Create a Safe and Comfortable Commuting Environment for the Second Semester Opening
Intensive Crackdown on Harmful Advertisements... Strengthening Administrative Measures Including Fines
Dongdaemun-gu, Seoul (District Mayor Lee Pil-hyung) will conduct a comprehensive cleanup of illegal advertisements around schools by September 27 to create a safe and pleasant commuting environment for the start of the second semester in 2024.
The main targets for cleanup are ▲ sexually explicit harmful advertisements around schools ▲ banners that obstruct pedestrian passage and block drivers' visibility ▲ signs at risk of falling.
In particular, focused cleanup will be carried out around children's protection zones near kindergartens and elementary schools (within 300m of main entrances), educational environment protection zones (within 200m of school boundaries), and food safety protection zones (within 200m around schools).
The district plans to strengthen administrative measures such as imposing fines and enforcement charges on illegal advertisements detected during this cleanup.
