Gyeonggi-do, Comprehensive Cleanup of Illegal Advertisements... Until September 27
Gyeonggi Province will carry out a comprehensive cleanup of illegal advertisements and safety inspections of signboards over 10 years old until September 27.
In this inspection, Gyeonggi Province plans to examine all safety-related issues such as the degree of corrosion, structural defects, and the risk of detachment during typhoons for advertisements installed more than 10 years ago and those that have not undergone safety inspections in the past three years. This safety inspection will focus on outdoor advertisements that have been installed for a long time and are relatively aged.
Additionally, cleanup of illegal advertisements will be conducted around elementary schools in the province, including surrounding protection zones (children protection zones, educational environment protection zones, food safety protection zones), major roads near schools, and commercial areas with heavy traffic, coinciding with the start of the school term.
Gyeonggi Province plans to repair, reinforce, and maintain advertisements found to be in dangerous condition as a result of the inspection, and encourage business owners to voluntarily remove aged and poor-quality illegal fixed advertisements.
Earlier, from June 3 to 28, Gyeonggi Province conducted a joint public-private inspection targeting 16,069 fixed advertisements and 158,588 mobile advertisements across 31 cities and counties to prepare for wind and flood disasters. As a result, 113,218 cases were immediately addressed on-site, 412 cases were repaired or reinforced, and 43,945 cases were removed.
