Father-in-law Strolling Naked in the Living Room... "What Should I Do?"
Father-in-law "It itches when clothes touch my skin"
Mother from my natal home who visited also witnessed it
A woman in her 30s expressed her distress over her father-in-law living around the house in just his underwear.
On the 16th, JTBC's 'Case Manager' aired a report from a woman, Ms. A, who said she had been living with her in-laws for three months ahead of moving out. Ms. A, who works full-time and is raising an 8-year-old child, confessed that problems arose while living with her in-laws.
Recently, Ms. A was shocked when she came home after work and found her father-in-law lying naked.
The father-in-law explained that after suffering from shingles recently, his skin itches and feels uncomfortable when clothes touch it, so he would take off his clothes when the family was not around.
In response to the father-in-law's confession, the mother-in-law and husband said, "It's family, so what's the problem? Just be comfortable."
Since that day, the father-in-law started roaming around the house in his underwear. He also scratched his body and left flakes of skin all over the house. According to Ms. A, even during meals, he would put his hand inside his underwear to scratch himself and then use that hand to pick up food and feed his granddaughter.
When Ms. A, unable to endure it any longer, spoke to her husband, he mentioned that his mother-in-law had stayed at their house for a few days for regular hospital check-ups after cancer surgery and said, "I also endured hardships because of my mother-in-law," getting angry instead. He added, "Even though I didn't want it, my mother-in-law washed and folded my underwear. I was embarrassed then. Every time she went to the bathroom, I checked if it was dirty and nagged her. I hated that too."
Ms. A refrained from raising the issue further to avoid escalating the conflict, but eventually, an incident occurred.
Ms. A's own mother, who came to visit, also saw the father-in-law naked.
Ms. A's mother said, "There’s a daughter-in-law and granddaughter here, so I think he should be more careful," but the father-in-law, putting on clothes, reportedly complained, "It stings. It's hard."
