The new leadership of the Democratic Party of Korea has been established. Lee Jae-myung, who succeeded in his re-election as party leader, is set to work together with Supreme Council members Kim Min-seok, Jeon Hyun-hee, Han Jun-ho, Kim Byung-joo, and Lee Eon-ju.
The new leadership, including Lee, paid their respects at the National Seoul National Cemetery on the 19th as their first official schedule. Lee wrote in the guestbook, "I will definitely create a world where we live together and a Korea that runs again." Right after writing in the guestbook, he met with reporters and, regarding his "return sentiments," said, "Rather than a return, it is more accurate to say a new start," adding, "I will do my best in monitoring and checking the government and taking care of people's livelihoods."

Kim Min-seok, who was elected as the senior Supreme Council member with the highest vote share (18.23%), emphasized throughout the election that he is the 'head of the ruling plan headquarters.' He pledged to expand party members' authority, promote various policy agreements, and focus on discovering talents both inside and outside the party in preparation for a prospective cabinet. He also revealed a plan to "allow activities in various concentric circles according to each person's skills and abilities centered around Leader Lee."
Immediately after his election, Lee expressed his expectations for each Supreme Council member. Regarding Kim Min-seok, he described him as "the party's strategist who would be second to none." About Jeon Hyun-hee, he said, "She will become a symbol of the Democratic Party's expansion by winning evenly in both Gangnam and Gangbuk areas of Seoul," and about Han Jun-ho, he said, "He will be the vanguard of media reform." He also introduced Kim Byung-joo as "the top expert in defense and security" and Lee Eon-ju as "the best economic expert and frontline attacker."
