In the nationwide party member convention (party convention) tour voting process on August 18 to elect the next leadership of the Democratic Party of Korea, candidate Lee Jae-myung's reappointment as leader is becoming certain. Candidate Lee recorded over 90% of the votes in the online voting by party members in Daejeon and Sejong, currently accumulating 89.21% of the total votes. In the election for the five highest-ranking committee members, candidates Kim Min-seok, Jeong Bong-ju, Kim Byung-joo, Han Jun-ho, and Lee Eon-ju are in the top ranks.
On the afternoon of the 11th, candidate Lee received 90.81% of the votes in the Daejeon primary and 90.21% in the Sejong primary, according to the online voting results announced at the SpoRex Hall of Paichai University in Seo-gu, Daejeon. The online voting participation rates were 30.59% and 40.47%, respectively. With this, online voting by party members has concluded in 16 out of 17 regions, excluding Seoul. Candidate Lee secured nearly 90% of the cumulative vote share across these 16 regions, effectively confirming his first-place position.

Second-place candidate Kim Du-kwan received 7.65% in Daejeon and 8.22% in Sejong, accumulating 9.34% overall. Third-place candidate Kim Ji-soo garnered 1.54% in Daejeon and 1.57% in Sejong, with a cumulative vote share of 1.45%. The Democratic Party will hold the final regional primary in Seoul on the 17th, followed by the party convention on the 18th at the KSPO Dome in Olympic Park, Songpa-gu, Seoul, to elect the next leadership. On the day of the convention, the final vote percentages will be calculated by reflecting nationwide party member ARS voting, delegate voting, and general public opinion survey results.
At the joint candidate speech event for the Daejeon and Sejong regions, candidate Lee began his speech by saying, "This is Lee Jae-myung, the son-in-law of Chungcheong," and asked, "Everyone, are you holding up? I am really dying (jukgeshiyu)." He continued, "The administrative capital construction, which the Democratic Party has long pursued, is currently not being implemented due to the Constitutional Court's ruling that it is 'unconstitutional.' The metropolitan area is facing the risk of explosion, while local areas are facing the risk of extinction," reflecting the regional characteristics of the joint speech held in the Chungcheong area.

After the Daejeon and Sejong regional primaries, the cumulative vote rankings for the highest-ranking committee candidates are: first place Kim Min-seok (18.03%), second place Jeong Bong-ju (15.63%), and third place Kim Byung-joo (14.02%). Candidate Kim Min-seok is promoting himself as the 'chairman of the Lee Jae-myung camp' and is solidifying his position as the chief highest-ranking committee member. Meanwhile, candidate Jeong, who initially swept the 20% range votes and led the race, has faltered, while candidate Kim Byung-joo is making a fierce chase. Candidate Kim Byung-joo surged from 6th to 3rd place in the Gyeonggi-do primary the previous day and maintained the 3rd place position in Daejeon and Sejong as well.

Additionally, candidates Han Jun-ho (13.66%) and Lee Eon-ju (11.56%) are within the winning range. According to Article 66 of Party Regulation No. 4 'Regulations on Election of Party Positions,' the top five candidates by vote percentage on the day of the party convention will be finally elected as highest-ranking committee members. If there is no woman among the top five by vote percentage, the highest-ranking female candidate by vote percentage among the female highest-ranking committee candidates may be elected instead of the 5th place candidate.
