Ministry of SMEs and Startups, 2025 Traditional Market and Shopping District Revitalization Support Recruitment
The Ministry of SMEs and Startups is recruiting participants for the ‘2025 Traditional Market and Shopping District Revitalization Support Project’ from the 14th of this month until September 20th.
This announcement targets a total of nine projects, including the Market Management Package Support Project and the Specialized Market Development Project, to pre-determine the 2025 support targets and contents, enabling local governments and traditional markets to thoroughly prepare and implement government support projects in advance.
A key feature of this project is the restructuring of support for each market into customized assistance by project stage to provide policy support tailored to the level of each traditional market.
For the ‘First Step Foundation Project,’ recruitment is divided into shopping district type and traditional market type, reflecting the trend of expanding alley-type shopping districts and the characteristics of each market type. The Digital Traditional Market Development Project is divided into first step and advanced stages according to the digital level for support.
In addition, to effectively prevent fires within traditional markets, the scope of support targets and types has been significantly expanded. The support targets for the Traditional Market Facilities and Safety Management Project have been expanded from the existing market-level support to the store-level (including electrical safety grades D and E), and the types of support have also been greatly expanded by adding gas facilities and other facilities to the existing electrical facilities (old wiring maintenance) and fire facilities (installation of fire detection equipment).
Furthermore, the Ministry of SMEs and Startups plans to provide preferential support to traditional markets that have measures in place to compensate merchants for property losses caused by fires and floods and to maintain stable livelihoods.
